Biography

Hi my name is Jamie Schearer-Udeh and I am an organizer, public speaker, and facilitator based in Berlin, Germany and London, UK.

I have spent nearly a decade working as a political activist and organizer within the intersections of gender and anti-racism. As a public speaker and lecturer I cover the topics of Black Feminism, Organising as Black people in Europe, Racial Profiling and Media and Racism.

Some important work milestones of mine include:

Working with the Initiative of Black People in Germany (ISD), where my focus was on language and racism, transnational networking, organisational development and amplifying campaigns such as #StopRacialProfiling.

Tapping into my passion for transnational networking, I co-founded the European Network of People of African Descent (ENPAD) that has been active since 2014. I have coordinated the network for four years. During my time at ENPAD I gained valuable experience on transnational working structures, fundraising as members of marginalized groups, conflict management and what it means to take on a leadership position as a Black women.

Since 2016 I have been working with an educational association, Glokal which offers anti-racism trainings. I have also been consulting for Amnesty International, the Heinrich Böll Foundation, Foundation Development and Cooperation Baden-Württemberg among others.

In 2017 I started leading the training programme for Campaign Bootcamp in Germany, from which I have now moved on to supporting their trainer development and organizational work for their UK work.

2017 was also the year were a new project came into fruition – I co-founded the a leadership programme for non-binary, trans and cis women of Color in Europe called Working on our Power – WOOP.  I have initially been working on the programme development and facilitation side of the team and have now moved into a role of the project manager.
