Jamie C. Schearer (Mag.) studied Political Science, North American Studies and Cultural Anthropology. She has been politically active since 2011. Her specialist fields are racial profiling, community development as well as national, European and international networking. Beyond that, she is passionate about intersectional feminism.
She is a Co-founder and General Coordinator of the European Network of People of African Descent – ENPAD. The network is a European wide transnational network that brings together Black political organisations. The main aim of the network is to fight anti-Black racism as well as work towards the political empowerment of Black people. Since 2014 she has organized and facilitated four successful network meetings in Berlin and Amsterdam.
Jamie has also served as a Board Member of the Initiative of Black People in Germany (ISD) from 2014 to 2016. ISD is one of the oldest and biggest Black self-organisations in Germany. Today she is part of the organisation’s Advisory Board. Between 2014 and 2017 she was a Board Member of the European Network Against Racism (ENAR). ENAR is a pan-European anti-racist Network that provides advocacy for racial equality and facilitates cooperation among civil society anti-racist actors in Europe based in Brussels.
Aiming to raise awareness of everyday racism in Germany, Jamie co-founded the social media project #Schauhin in 2013, bringing together perspectives of People of Colour and Black People from on racism.
Outside of her activism, she works as a freelance anti-racism and intersectionality consultant, conceptualizing workshops and working as an adviser.
